Maria Koliga – Wood Flooring Specialist

Maria Koliga has been specializing in the wood flooring industry since 1999, when she officially began working in her family business alongside her studies.

Her academic background is focused on Economics, Regional Development, and Business Administration. At the age of 17.5, she was admitted through national entrance exams to the Department of Economic and Regional Development at Panteion University, where she graduated in June 2003 (1999–2003), achieving top honors and ranking first among all graduates. During her studies, she received an annual excellence scholarship from the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) as one of the top five students, and she was selected to deliver the official graduation oath on behalf of her class. She later pursued postgraduate studies (MSc) at the University of Bath (2005–2006), specializing in Marketing and Business Administration.

Her education has shaped a professional approach that combines strategic thinking with practical application, with emphasis on marketing strategy, business organization and development, and the integration of economic data into business decision-making.

Her exposure to the professional world began at an early age. From the age of 13, she accompanied her father on business trips and international trade fairs, mainly in Italy and Germany, in a sector focused on Italian furniture imports and wood flooring production. In this environment, she took on an active role, assisting with translations, as she began learning Italian and Serbian from a young age, in addition to English.

After completing her studies, she joined the family business full-time. She initially worked in the accounting department, primarily handling banking transactions, gaining valuable experience in financial operations.

She soon transitioned into sales, where she developed in-depth expertise in wood and its products. Her mentor was her father, widely regarded in the market as a “guru” of wood flooring. Under his guidance, she gained comprehensive knowledge of wood—from its characteristics and production process to installation methods, maintenance, and proper care

Through continuous study, hands-on experience, and collaboration with her team, she developed a well-rounded understanding of the industry. Over time, the company expanded dynamically, establishing two production facilities—one in Bosnia and one in Aspropyrgos, Greece—while maintaining an active presence in international trade exhibitions

For approximately ten years, she regularly traveled to the Bosnia factory, playing an active role in client development. She conducted business meetings and secured agreements with procurement directors of major flooring manufacturers across Europe and Asia, supplying raw materials for prefinished flooring production.

Today, Maria Koliga participates in four major industry exhibitions annually, represents four leading flooring brands, and offers the innovative Woodura wood flooring, known for its water and impact resistance. She continuously evolves and stays up to date with industry developments, introducing products to the Greek market that enhance everyday living while offering durability and long lifespan.

She maintains direct contact with clients, providing practical solutions tailored to their needs. She carefully selects products and partners based on what she would choose for her own home. Passionate about her work, she is committed to delivering the best possible results for those who place their trust in her.
